Registration for Players NEW to Minor Hockey (revised June 29, 2026)

Welcome new players!

If you are enrolling the sibling of a returning player, please email registrar@victoriaminorhockey.ca instead of following these instructions.

For new to hockey families:

  • An overview of registration (pricing, etc) can be found on our site under the Registration menu at the top of this page.
  • We’ll just want to double check that you live in the Victoria draw zone (similar to a school catchment). If you could send your address to registrar@victoriaminorhockey.ca, we can double check that for you.
  • Our arenas include Archie Browning (Esquimalt), Pearkes Recreation, Oak Bay Recreation, Naden Athletic Centre (on Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt) and Save-On Foods Memorial Centre
  • You will need to add the player you are registering to your (parent or guardian) Spordle account (instructions below).
  • You can find answers to common questions about The Shift Forward from Hockey Canada program here.

Adding a new player to Spordle:

  • Log into or create a Spordle account for yourself.  You can read the Spordle account creation steps here.
  • Create a Hockey Canada Registry ID (HCR ID) for your new player within BC Hockey's site here.
  • Ensure that your player has been linked to your Spordle account under "member".
  • Complete the Parent & Guardian version of Hockey Canada's new Shift Forward Program (which replaces the previous Respect in Sport Parent Program). You will need this course and the Hockey Canada ID number before you can register with us.
  • Upload proof of residency plus a copy of a birth certificate or passport or care card.

Required equipment and some tips for new hockey parents can be found here.
