VANCOUVER CANUCKS COACHING STAFF TO PARTICIPATE AT TOWN HALL MEETING IN VICTORIA

Vancouver, B.C. â The Vancouver Canucks announced today that in partnership with the Victoria Salmon Kings, Hockey Canada, BC Hockey and the Victoria Grizzlies, they will host a town hall meeting for minor hockey coaches, parents and volunteers during their training camp in Victoria.Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks announced today that in partnership with the Victoria Salmon Kings, Hockey Canada, BC Hockey and the Victoria Grizzlies, they will host a town hall meeting for minor hockey coaches, parents and volunteers during their training camp in Victoria. The town hall meeting will take place on Thursday, September 13th at the Westin Bear Mountain Victoria and will focus on coach development, minor hockey player development, professional development and new rules in hockey.
“We are very excited to be able to participate in the Vancouver Canucks Town Hall Meeting,” said Canucks Head Coach Alain Vigneault. “The importance of teaching the proper fundamentals when hockey players are first starting off cannot be emphasized enough. We hope that by participating in an event like this that we can help foster the growth of players in grassroots hockey in British Columbia.”
“This is great opportunity for minor hockey coaches, players, and volunteers, to share in an evening discussing hockey with a number of experienced coaches from all levels of our Game. I look forward to seeing you there...,” said Nancy Wilson, BC Hockey Provincial Head Coach.
The Vancouver Canucks, BC Hockey, Hockey Canada, Victoria Salmon Kings and the Victoria Grizzlies are coming together to provide a unique coaching experience for minor hockey coaches, parents and volunteers from all over Vancouver Island. With the support of the Westin Hotel and with countless hours of support from Victoria Minor Hockey Association and local minor hockey associations, the main focus of this free event is to provide an opportunity for the minor hockey community to hear from coaches of all levels of the game. The event takes place on Thursday, September 13th at 7:00pm; doors open at 6:30pm.
