VMHA Officials Skate the BC Championships!
This past week two BC Hockey Championships were hosted on the South Island. The Midget Tier 2 Boys were held at Pearkes Arena and the Bantam Female at Bear Mountain Arena.
Victoria Minor Hockey Association (VMHA) proudly sent 10 officials in total to the Championships which is more than any other island association. At the Midget T2 Championships were Jake Carder, Jeff Lewis Manning, Daniel Winters, Sam Barton, Blake Copland and Kyle Steel. While at the Bantam Female Championships VMHA was again well represented by Lyne Laurendeau, Leah Kulas, Maya Dixon and Jamie Scriver.
Blake Copland was chosen as the referee to skate in the Midget T2 Gold Medal game, while Jake Carder worked the lines for the Bronze Medal game. Kyle Steel and Daniel Winters drew in for the exhilarating semi-final match.
At Bear Mountain, Jamie Scriver refereed a semi-final and the Gold Medal game while Lyne Laurendeau was chosen to line a semi-final and the Bronze Medal lines at the Bantam Female Championship but was unable to skate the latter due to an injury in the semi -final.
